    How can I get past the Microsoft link window?


    I made a new account on my Xbox series S and it’s showing me the Microsoft link window when I try to sign in. I complete the steps but the Microsoft link window doesn’t go away and it keeps popping up when I try to sign in. How can I fix this?

    How can I get past the Microsoft link window?

    Hi Thebeastking440,

    My name is Aileen, and I’m an Xbox Expert and an Xbox user. I get how frustrating that Microsoft link loop can be. I’ve seen it happen myself when setting up new profiles, and it can be stubborn.

    Here’s what worked for me and many others when that window refuses to go away:

    1. Remove the stuck profile

    Go to Settings > Account > Remove accounts, then remove the profile that’s stuck in the loop.

    2. Clear persistent data & restart your console

    Go to Settings > Devices & connections > Blu-ray > Persistent storage and select Clear persistent storage

    Then go to Settings > General > Power options > Full shutdown

    Wait a few seconds and power it back on.

    3. Re-add the account after the restart

    Go back to Settings > Account > Add new and sign in with the same Microsoft account.

    This usually resets the login and gets past the Microsoft link screen.

    Extra Tip: if it still loops

    You can also go to https://www.microsoft.com/link on your browser, enter the code shown on your Xbox, and link it there first before signing in again.

    Sorry to hear it. Please try powercycling the console by holding the power button on it for 10 seconds till it shuts down. If that does not work then you may need to try deleting then redownloading the game.

    If you are on PC then launch the Store App and click on Updates and see if there are any updates waiting for the game
