My name is Aileen, and I’m an Xbox Expert and an Xbox user. I’m sorry your friend is going through this; not being able to access any part of a Microsoft account is incredibly stressful, especially when it blocks Minecraft, Xbox, and account recovery options.

Since you're helping on their behalf, which is very kind of you, here’s what your friend can do, and what you can guide them through:

1. Check what happens when they go to this site:

https://account.live.com

If it says the account doesn’t exist or isn’t recognized:

That means the account may have been hacked or deleted, especially if they see something like a weird email ending in @autosecure.top or similar.

2. Go directly to the Microsoft account recovery form:

https://account.live.com/acsr

Your friend should:

Enter their original Microsoft email, the one they used for Minecraft/Xbox/Game Pass.

Provide an email they currently have access to this is where Microsoft will contact them.

Fill in as much detail as possible e.g. recent passwords, games they’ve played, billing info if they’ve ever bought anything.

Important tip: Be detailed. Even small things like old Xbox gamertags, game names, or old passwords help prove identity.

3. After submitting the recovery form:

They should get a confirmation email, and Microsoft will usually respond within 24–48 hours with results or next steps. If denied, they can submit again with more info.

If your friend sees a hijacked account email like eb****@autosecure.top:

This usually means the account was compromised and the email was changed.

In this case, he should still use the recovery form and note in the additional information section that:

"My account was hacked, and the email was changed to an address I don’t recognize. My original email was [his real email]. I need help recovering the account."

Unfortunately, only your friend can complete the recovery, since Microsoft won't verify someone else on their behalf. But you're doing the right thing by helping them get started and guiding them.

Let me know what kind of error message he sees when trying to log in, I can help interpret it and suggest next steps if the above doesn’t work.

It is not the Microsoft Family Safety page. My account was made way back in 2012 when Xbox had a program called Xbox Live Family, and it was a way that parents could make accounts for their kids. That program was closed many years ago, so I am unable to access the emails that are sent to my primary microsoft alias since it ends in xboxlivefamily.com. I am able to add other aliases to my account, however I am unable to change my primary alias as it says "Your organization's policies prevent you from changing your primary alias.". I just want to get into contact with someone from Microsoft so that they can fix this for me.

Please fix my sidebar. I am unable to go anything on my sidebar. I am unable to access my side for party's,text,friends ect.... Still able to play games but will not accept any invites aslo. Please look into this issue A.S.A.P... I am thankful for your time

I'm trying to change setting so my child can add friends on Mine Craft to their PS4..which should be through my Microsoft account. I am unable to locate where I make that change.

Yep... having the same issue. My Fiance has her own account and I was able to sign in to hers. Unfortunately mine is not accessible at all. I am unable to use my account or anything associated with my account.
