My Microsoft account is set up on my phone but my xbox isn't connected why?

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues signing in. If you’re repeatedly prompted to enter your password when you try to sign in on your Xbox One or Xbox Series X|S console, try the following solutions.

To make sure that what you are experiencing is not related to your device cache, I would recommend that you perform a power cycle. Please note that this is different from a regular restart, Kindly follow the steps below.

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 50 seconds.

Important: Make sure that you wait at least 50 seconds. This step resets the power supply.

3. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

If you don't see the green boot-up animation when the console restarts, repeat these steps. Make sure that you hold the power button until the console completely shuts down.

Important If your console is in Sleep mode, the above steps will shut the console off completely. Sleep mode, or the ability to turn on your console by saying "Xbox on," won't be enabled until you restart the console.

Remove and then re-add your account to the console:

Step 1: Remove your account

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > Account.

Select Remove accounts.

Select your account, and then confirm removal.

Step 2: Restart your console

Press and hold the Xbox button in the center of your controller to open the Power Center.

Select Restart console.

Select Restart.

Step 3: Re-add your account to the console

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Add new.

Enter your Microsoft account email address and password.

Complete the personalization settings on the next several screens.

If you still can't sign in, you’ll need to restore the default factory settings on the console. To do this, see:

Warning: Restoring your console to factory default settings erases all accounts, apps, games, saved games, and settings. Anything that isn’t synchronized with the Xbox network will be lost. (Your console syncs with Xbox automatically when it’s connected with the service.)

1. Download the Xbox app on your phone from the App Store or Google Play Store.

2. Sign in to your Xbox account on the app.

3. Make sure your Xbox console is turned on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone.

4. On the app, tap the "Connect" icon at the top of the screen.

5. Select your Xbox console from the list of available devices.

6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process.

It works fine on 5 GHz.

My phone's hotspot just isn't a good router.

But I still don't understand how or why my Xbox wouldn't connect to my 2.4 GHz wifi.

Mateus, I DO still have access to my old account, on my old computer. I never intended to set up a new Microsoft OR Xbox account when I was setting up my new PC. I somehow did though, and now it isn't working right.
