    Hello so if I wont fix this issue soon I will be found in a ditch, lying dead with my laptop. I have the xbox app on my laptop, downloaded it for the Game Pass. I have installed some games on there, notably Dead By Daylight and Minecraft Launcher. Today I woke up to see that my DBD game isnt working. Error 0x87e00196, it says. Ok, I say, already researching online about what to do against this thunderous problem that I hadnt expected to be the bane of my days (hours). When I say I've tried everything, I've TRIED EVERYTHING! I've contacted 2 support agents by now. I've restartarted the Xbox app, updated it. Restarted my laptop maybe a 1000 times. Reinstalled the gaming service package multiple times in my Windows Powershell. Even went as far as entering some sort of program i didnt even know i had on my windows and entering some services.msc to run some Xbox files. I've waited half a day for maybe the problem to fade away, yet the only thing that did was my hope. Please someone tell me how to fix this. Am i destined to never play dead by daylight again?

    Luckily, I didn't have to do that as just recently it has started working perfectly fine again. However, now whenever I try to download any games via the app it gives me the error code 0x87e00196. I have followed the instructions on this page Error 0x87e00196 occurs when you try to manage a game on Windows | Xbox Support but that gave me another error code (0x80070002). I believe it might be linked to some of the stuff we tried to fix the previous issue so any help would be appreciated.

    This location isnt set up for installing games.....

    Okay so fixed that issue by unticking "ask me for install options on every install" but now get an error code "0x87e00196" trying to install anything

    I was able to fix the 0x87e00196 error by myself. So I can install games from the PC Game Pass again.

    Just had to reinstall the Gaming Services again...
