unable to create a gamertag?

I've already paid for the xbox pc gamepass and tried to set up my xbox gamertag so I can install the games i'd like to play but it gets stuck. After choosing a pfp and gamertag, I click 'Save and Continue' and the button does nothing and my account isn't made.

Have the same prob.

I created for MCC an account; created the gamertag as shown here "" it said that the gamertag is available - but after that, I got a different one.

Since then, I'm unable to change the gamertag on the homepage.

If I try to change the gamertag on the XBox Live homepage - there occurs an error and I'm unable to change it.

It says, that I should try it later - i try it now since 3 days.

I created a new gamertag on my xbox one and still was unable to connect to the servers. Good to know the game i have been wanting the most to be backwards compatible is simply broken

ALSO logged in with the weirdest gametag ever that I did not create, just after subscribing to gamepass for PC. Hopefully this gamertag can be changed, is it part of the same issue with being unable to load gamepass?

there is no way to change the country/region connected to a gamertag, the gamertag gets the country when it is created from the windows live id (Microsoft account).

The only way to get an account connected to a different country is by creating a new gamertag.

If I understand correctly you have got codes for the country US, but when redeeming them you'll need a gamertag that is connected to that country, but another thing to think of, is that the location of the console might be checked as well.

So if you succeed in creating a gamertag for the country US, you might still be unable to redeem your codes, since the physical location of the console is Argentina.
