    Linked my Xbox account to my Activision account but did not receive cross-progression?


    Confirmed my accounts area linked however I do not have any of my content from Xbox game play

    So I’m trying to link my prime gaming account to my activison but as I’m trying to log into activison it’s sending a authentication code to the Authenticator app but nothing is coming up

    This is actually related to Activision account registration please read the information below and if the problem persist please contact them about this situation:

    PlayStation, Xbox, Steam, Blizzard, and Nintendo accounts can be linked to an Activision account.

    Follow these steps to link a platform account:

    1. Log in to the platform account you wish to link.
    2.In the same browser, log in to your Activision account.
    3. Select the LINKED ACCOUNTS tab on your Activision account.
    4. Select the Link Account button next to the account you wish to link.
    Please note: Activision accounts may only have one account linked per manufacturer.
    5.Account verification is required to make this change to your account. Select SEND CODE to have a one-time verification code sent to the email account associated with your Activision account.
    6. Enter the Verification Code you were sent to confirm you’re the owner of the account, then select CONTINUE.
    7.You will be taken to the platform account provider’s website to complete the account linking process.
    Please note: Games with cross-progression store game progress on your Activision account, not your platform account. If you choose to link your platform account to another Activision account, your progress will not carry over. Your progress and content aren't lost. If you relink this platform account to the original Activision account, you can continue your progression and access your owned content.

    why cant i play on both the xbox and the pc with the same account

    Thanks for your reply.

    I have had already contacted Activision and received this reply below, as you can see he seems to think I can play on both platforms and I did ask if that was possible as my first question and they said yes I then asked the same question I posted here and they reply as below

    "Thank you for reaching out to Activision Player Support! My name is Eric, I understand that you wanted to purchase the game on your Xbox and inquire about the progression. I would love to clarify this for you.

    Upon checking, your Xbox account is already linked to your Activision account. In regards to your question, you can still play the game and enjoy your recent progress even if you are playing on your Xbox account."

    I then received this reply

    Thank you for your response. I won't recommend making a new Activision account if that is what you wish for because all of your progress stays on your original Activision account.

    Since your Battlenet and Xbox accounts are already linked to your current Activision account, you can enjoy your progress even if you are using any platform that you wish for if you purchase the game again on your Xbox.

    So I still dont have an answer to my issue?

    Thank you for answering unfortunately i tried deleting my activision account and making new one but linking it only to xbox and that didnt help im guessing my xbox account didnt save my progress or is somehow not crossaving the progress. Now i really dont know what to do cause apparently i did everything correct its that xbox didnt bring my progress from mw2

    We understand that you are having trouble unlinking your Xbox account from your ACTi vison account due to an old email address being used. I'm sorry to hear that you have not received a response from Activision or Microsoft/Xbox support. I'll do my best to assist you with this issue.



    I actually found an article from ACTi vision regarding with unlinking accounts for Xbox. It stated that, you may unlink your individual accounts from an Activision account once every 12 months. So, if you haven't done this in the past you should be able to do so.

    Check the following of how you can do it:

    1. Sign in your Activision account.
    2. In the account linking section find the account you wish to unlink and select unlink.

      Note: Games with cross-progression store game progress on your Activision account, not your platform account. If you choose to link your platform account to another Activision account, your progress will not carry over. Your progress and content aren't lost. If you relink this platform account to the original Activision account, you can continue your progression and access your owned content.
    3. Check the confirmation box and select continue.

    If you wish to unlink an account due to a lost password or an email account you can no longer access, follow the steps on this link: Manage your Activision Account

    Note: The steps presented under Unlinking Platform Accounts.

    I had this same problem and followed the instructions it still asked me to verify my old email while I was trying to unlink my Xbox. I had forgotten what email I used for my activation account so I used another email addresss to login and at some point that’ll my progress from the Xbox didn’t carry over to my pc. So I unlinked the activation account I linked and tried to unlink my Xbox using the instructions in this article and it still prompted sending a verification code to the email I no longer have access to.
