    Child restrictions issue - Headset requires parental account signed in


    I've contacted support several times, and gone through all child permission on the Xbox, the Xbox family settings app, and the Microsoft family website.

    These issue is that my son's child restrictions prevent his headset from working unless the parent account also signs into the Xbox. Once the parental account signs in, the headset can be assigned to the child's account and it will work, most of the time.

    The problem with this is we can not play games together. To sign in the parent account on the Xbox then signs the parent account on the PC because it's logged in two places at once. This can not be the intended way this works.

    How can I set it up so the child account can chat in Xbox party, without requiring the parent to also be signed in the Xbox?

    Content Restrictions

    Hi, is your account under parental controls ?

    If that's the case then the parental account will need to sign in and change any restrictions on your account.

    If that's not the case and your account is an adult account and you also have a child account signed in that has content restrictions set then those restrictions will also affect the adult account until the child account signs out.

    If you are 17 and have parental restrictions on your account the parental account will need to remove those restrictions in order to allow you to purchase the content.

    After you turn 18 you'll be able to promote your account to adult to remove the purchasing restrictions and no longer require a parental account.

    Thanks for the support message.

    Actually, EA has a restriction to not allow child accounts to play their games online and Star Wars Battlefront is an all online game. Regardless of the parental restrictions on the child account, EA has enabled that restriction. Sorry. Your child will
    have to sign into an adult account or wait until he turns the legal age in your region to play that game.

    Privacy settings has no bearing on content restrictions

    You must have the parental account sign in to approve the purchase

    There might be parental restrictions keeping you from signing on. I would reach out to a parent or guardian for assistance, not that I don't think you're capable, but to check that there isn't a parent account that would need to change account settings
    or authorize the login, as
    there are settings that could be the issue.
