    Account hacked, recovery failed despite proof of purchase – need escalation beyond standard...


    My Microsoft account was hacked, and the hacker changed the email and recovery info. I lost access to my Minecraft license.

    I have the original transaction receipt with full details. I went through the recovery process multiple times, but always received the same denial. Support on Twitter and chat referred me back to the same forms that already failed.

    I need this escalated beyond the automated recovery system. I can verify ownership and I’m willing to go through detailed checks. Please escalate this to the security team or assign a human reviewer.

    If it's not possible to proceed with the account recovery webform, nothing to worry, there is still a way for you to recover your hacked account.

    You will need to contact Microsoft Xbox support as they have the tools to escalate your case to the Account Escalation Team for an account recovery.

    We do not have tools here to use for an account escalation since we are independent advisors but no worries, I will directly reroute you to Microsoft Xbox support.

    Thanks i got an update : Good day! I already got a response from our higher department.

    They mentioned that the only option to recover the hacked account is to submit an escalation case for account recovery just like what was recently processed on your account. But this time you will really need to provide enough information about the account. If you forgot the information about the account, you will really need to contact the person that changed your information and talk to that person.

    Other than the escalation for account recovery, there is no other option to recover the account.

    Well, without proof that it was hacked/stolen it wouldn't be locked.. for example, if someone reported my account as being stolen or hacked.. they would need proof to support their report. Did you provide proof?

    Hi!

    Make sure that the code is activated by the store where it was bought from. Codes need to be activated by the retail store to prevent code theft.

    The code should also be compatible with your Xbox account region.

    If you have the proof of purchase, contact Xbox chat or phone support so they can have it escalated to T3. They will need a copy of the code proof of purchase and a picture of the code too. It should be 25 characters.

    Once you have failed a password reset request at
    https://account.live.com/acsr     and have the online recovery reference # from Microsoft Accounts' security folks (which you get by email when you try the recovery), then if you call Support and provide your console ID, they can escalate it back to Microsoft
    Accounts.
