    How Xbox Can Beat Sony with Deadpool, Quantum Break 2, and Killer Marketing


    Hey r/Xbox, I've been thinking about how Xbox can outshine Sony and create a huge buzz. We have Game Pass, a killer ecosystem (Xbox, PC, cloud) and studios like MachineGames, Arkane. I'm not talking about Bethesda because, dammit, they don't have time for games other than TES 6 and Fallout 5 (Sorry, I don't remember and I don't know all the studios)). But we need bolder moves to compete with Sony's Spider-Man or God of War. Here's my plan - let me know what you think.

    1. Make a Deadpool game with a timed exclusivity

    Imagine a Deadpool game: open-world chaos, humor, and a Marvel-style GTA with superpowers. It comes to Xbox Series X/S and Game Pass in April 2027, comes to PC in December 2027, and comes to PS5 in March 2028. This drives console sales (like Rise of the Tomb Raider in 2015, or is that a bad example?) and maximizes profits. Marketing? A viral ad featuring Deadpool holding a PS5 box, reading a bad script, until another Deadpool with an Xbox Series X “stops” him by saying, “Xbox has me on Game Pass, dude!” (or something like that, sorry for the simplistic example). Ryan Reynolds voices her, and she’s everywhere — Xbox Showcase, TGA, X, TikTok.

    1. Reinvent Quantum Break

    Quantum Break is underrated: epic story, time powers, and a built-in TV show. Xbox announces Quantum Break 2 (or a spin-off) from Remedy or Ninja Theory. To build hype, give the first game away for free on PC, PS5, and Game Pass in mid-2026 with a 4K/60 FPS patch. Tease in 2026, gameplay in late 2026, and launch in 2027 as an Xbox/PC exclusive (PS5 later). Sony did this with Horizon Zero Dawn before Forbidden West — it works. You can't just let an idea like this fade into oblivion because it didn't work the first time.

    1. Improve your marketing with dev diaries. Xbox needs to keep us excited about Blade, Fable, and Perfect Dark. Short 1-2 minute dev diaries from executives for 2-3 months (like Naughty Dog for The Last of Us) showcasing gameplay, world design, or combat. Put them on YouTube, X. It's cheap and it gets us hooked. Xbox showing us the game and that's it.. then by the time we see it or hear about it, a lot of time has passed and everyone has kind of forgotten it was announced. We just need to give it a reminder.

    Oh...and I forgot to add Hellblade. I was a huge fan of Heavenly Sword, on the PS.

    Both Sony and Xbox have interesting exclusives lined up...it's not just quantity, but the quality of...but I do agree, Xbox does have the killer line up in the foreseeable future; Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, Halo 5, Fable, Forza Horizon 2, Gears of
    War...so, I'm not saying Xbox is not the place to ultimately be.

    Quantum Break Pre-Order never received Alan Wake American Nightmare and Quantum Break PC code

    Pre-ordering a code to redeem the digital version of Quantum Break through the Xbox Store before the launch of Quantum Break (which was April 5th, 2016) would have included the digital pre-order bonuses. However the disc version would not have been eligible.
