Proposed Policy Change:

Use Account Lockout Instead of Deletion If a compliance issue is detected, temporarily lock the account and sign it out from all devices. Avoid deleting the account unless necessary.

Require Parental Re-Authentication and Consent Notify the managing parent account and require re-authentication and consent. This action would satisfy COPPA re-authorization requirements without deleting the account outright.

Recognize Family Safety Metadata as Authorization If an account was created and immediately added to a Family Safety group, treat this as strong evidence of parental oversight and authorization.

Apply Progressive Lockout for Suspicious Activity Just as in enterprise environments, accounts should auto-lock after repeated failed sign-ins or suspicious activity—not be deleted. Parents/admins should be given a chance to review and unlock.

Enable Recovery or Email Reuse If an account is deleted, the associated email should still be available for reuse or account recreation. Blocking that email address completely—even when it’s part of a managed family—creates long-term service disruption.

This approach maintains compliance while protecting user experience, family account structures, and linked services. I hope you’ll consider this as a viable and responsible improvement to how child accounts are managed.

In this case, I would suggest you to ask your parents to add you to the group again but this time as an organizer, not a member. This way your account will have adult policies instead of child policies:

No there isn't, even if you change his account to teen and change the gamer picture then change his account back to a child, the custom pic will delete immediately. It's a good idea to do what StuartATrueRed has suggested

I also suggest you look into changing your child to a child account if they are not, if they are turn off the ability to make purchases. If your child knows your account information change it, immediately update your password.

18. The best way to manage the child account is to
add it to a family. This requires an adult account to add the child account to the family. Once the child account has been added to the adult account's family, the child account will be able to access online features. Be sure to let us know the results!
