Ethernet Chip/always detects cable/no internet

So basically I lost internet access on my series x, tried everything, factory reset bricked it. Try to reset from a thumb drive but it still needs to download update but no internet access.

Opened up the case and noticed the ethernet Chip, right behind the ethernet port looks fried.

Been watching videos on replacing the Chip and how a fried Chip can cause my exact issue.

Wondering if I remove the Chip would I get my wifi back? Or does the wifi need that chip to function. Logically I would think the Chip just controls the ethernet plug in, and removing the Chip would just lead to no wired access.

Hello brook, sorry to hear you're having trouble.

I'm afraid that discussion of self repair is not allowed on the forums here. As you've already opened the case on the console Support will not be able to help either. My best recommendation here would be to contact your local gaming store to see if they offer a repair option.

sounds like it is not detecting your ethernet cable. try a different cable from your xbox to your networking device (router/modem) if a different cable does not work; have your internet service provider test your internet connection to your house. if your
internet is working, your ethernet port on your xbox may no longer be working.

its kinda weird and im not sure how to explain it

my laptop is conected thru wifi, then i conect a ethernet cable from my laptop to my xbox, and my xbox detects the cable then, but of course i don´t have acces to internet, it just appear to be conected with a ethernet cable

The port functioned before. I don't know why it doesn't work now.

Unfortunately, if you've already gone through the steps of trying different Ethernet Cables, directly connecting the Ethernet cable to the Cable/DSL modem and then the other
end into the Xbox 360 and it's still not being detected then it definitely means that there is an issue with the consoles Ethernet port and there's really no fix for it.

Something like this can definitely occur if you've had a power surge of any sort as power can go through the Ethernet cord to the port of the Xbox 360 and short it out.

You would need to send the console in to get repaired if you'd like to make sure of the Ethernet portion of the console otherwise
you can try using wireless either internal if available or using the wireless adapter.

Since you've taken it upon yourself to open the console, we are unable to help you with do it yourself fixes to your console unfortunately. You should never do any self repairs on a console, if anyone does not work even official Microsoft out of warranty repair
would not accept your console for repair. Your only option to get the Ethernet port working would be to purchase a new console now.
