“This app made too many requests”

    Hi Lauren,

    Some questions:

    1. Where exactly are you trying to sign in - an Xbox console, or the Xbox website or app on another device (smartphone, tablet, PC)? Do you have 2FA/2SV enabled on your account?
    2. Are there any specific error codes with the error message?
    3. Are you able to successfully sign in to another Xbox account/profile on the same device?
    4. Have you tried a different network? If you're connected to a WiFi network, try 4G/5G mobile data (as a hotspot if you're not signing in on a smartphone).

Why is the Xbox app so bad and broken?

Currently I’m using the latest IOS version, and I don’t find it too bad. There are some improvements to be made, but that can be said about many applications out there.

When I log into my Xbox, it says this application made too many required. Please try to continue. Why is that?

    Hi there Mic V.

I am Lumie and I would love to assist you today.

I am so sorry you are having issues signing into your Xbox account.

The error message you're seeing, "this application made too many requests," indicates that the application (in this case, likely the Xbox or a specific app on the Xbox) has exceeded the number of requests it is allowed to make to the server within a certain period. This is usually a rate-limiting issue.

Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue:

Wait and Retry: Sometimes, this issue resolves itself after a while. Wait for some time (usually around 15-30 minutes) and try to sign in again.

Clearing the cache on your Xbox can help resolve various issues:

Press and hold the power button on the front of the Xbox until it turns off.
Unplug the power cable from the back of the Xbox.
    Wait for about 10 seconds.
Plug the power cable back in and turn on the Xbox.

Try signing into your Xbox account on a different device, such as a computer or mobile phone. This can help verify if the issue is specific to your Xbox or your account.

Ensure that your Xbox and any related apps are up to date. Sometimes, updates can resolve this issue.

There might be a network issue causing this problem. Here's what you can do:

Test your network connection. Go to Settings > General > Network settings > Test network connection.
Restart your router or modem. Unplug it from the power source, wait for about 30 seconds, and then plug it back in.
Try connecting your Xbox to the internet using a wired connection (Ethernet cable) instead of Wi-Fi to see if that resolves the issue.

Factory Reset (with Keeping Games & Apps - partial reset): As a last resort, you can perform a factory reset that keeps your games and apps. This can help resolve persistent issues:

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info > Reset console.
Select Reset and keep my games & apps. This option resets the OS and deletes all potentially corrupted data without affecting your games and apps.

    I hope this helps.

Let me know if I can be of any further assistance. -Lumie

too many request issues with email

    Hi Osvaldo,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues logging in to your Microsoft account. This may be due to a network issue at the time the login request is sent.

Please try to "Sign out everywhere" your Microsoft account. Try to use a different device such as your smartphone and disconnect from your current Wi-Fi and use your mobile data during this process:

Sign in to your Advanced security options on your Microsoft account security dashboard.

    https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2253707

Scroll down to Sign out everywhere and select Sign out.

Once done, give it few minutes to update across all Microsoft servers before trying again.

Note: Sign out may take up to 24 hours.

    Regards,

    Alvaro

Error code 429- too many requests

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you with your concern.

I would like to clarify, is this happening with every website where you're trying to stream a video or only for a specific one?
