I'm just now finding out about digital games!

I've been a gamer since I was a child. I'm now 40 years old and just now finding out that the digital offline games that WE buy with OUR hard earned money can be taken away by the developers or Microsoft if they so chose and I'm not trying to be disrespectful but I 100% disagree with this! Here's why, 1, the digital games are same price as the physical disc. 2 ,prices never drop on the digital, 3 it is an excuse to say it's because we are paying for the license to play the game but we don't own the game. I'm sorry but not sorry when someone pays for something you get to keep it. If piracy is illegal then so should how you guys have all this set up be illegal because what you are doing is taking OUR hard earned money then deciding that there will come a day where you all can take what WE bought and paid for back! Now that I know and understand what's going on we will be at work to advocate and take this to court! Cause if our games at some point can't be accessed then we will demand our money back at full price! This is unacceptable and had I have known this beforehand I would have never thrown my money away like that! And don't get me started that you guys put this in the agreement (after purchase) this needs to be notified and transparent before purchasing the game not after! This is wrong and should be illegal with how you guys are going about this! I can tell you all now with my research and the times we are living in that folks out there don't have enough common sense to fight something like this but with reason and common sense you can bet that this will be won in court with lawsuits if this does end up happening.

When you buy anything digitally, not just video games, you're only buying a license to use the content, not the game itself. So the company can pull your access at any time. (Again, this applies to other digital content not just video games). It's what you agree to when you make the purchase (the terms and conditions are available before you complete your purchase).

Digital prices drop constantly and there are constantly sales on digital games.

The same terms have been in video game EULA forever. You have never bought the game you've always bought a license to play it regardless of whether it was hardcopy or not

That could be a good idea. I find that when I'm deciding which game to play I'll gaze at my shelf and look at the physical boxes and sometimes seem to completely forget about the digital games I have. That was OK when I had 95% physical and 5% digital, but
I've now gone more towards the digital route too (maybe 80% digital and 20% physical).

Discs will be phased out in due time..Its just the way it is now..

I was on the fence about this disc vs. digital before the one came out but now that i am all digital ,discs are an anomaly..

Pretty much useless pieces of plastic now IMO..

I'm in my 40's and i have seen the 8 track replaced by the cassette ,the cassette/VHS replaced by CD's,,CD's being replaced with SD cards and MP3 players and now digital replacing everything ..

Just the way it is ,and we can't stop it..
