How do I activate a Minecraft Realms on the Nintendo Switch?

I bought a Minecraft Realms subscription for the Nintendo Switch a couple of days ago. I am not able to access my realms subscription. When I try to create a realm in the Main Menu of the game I am prompted to buy a realm. Once I agree to the terms and conditions of the realm, I enter the Nintendo eShop to finish my purchase, but I do not get an option to do so.

I have an open ticket with Mojang support, but they are slow to respond.

I have spoken to Nintendo support three times to try and get some people who can help me, but I keep getting directed to Mojang. I sincerely think this is a Nintendo issue because I get stuck in the Nintendo eShop when I try to activate my realm.

One fact that I am confused about is that a realm typically requires a Microsoft account; however, the only time I am connected to my Microsoft account on my switch is when I am in Minecraft. Is there a way to link my Microsoft account with my Nintendo account outside the Minecraft game?

I have tried logging out and back into my Microsoft account. I have tried restarting my Switch. I have tried deleting Minecraft and re-downloading it. I have tried restarting my internet router. I have made sure that both my Switch and Minecraft are updated. I have made sure that my Microsoft account and Nintendo account have the same region. None of these "fixes" have worked. If you have a suggestion, please comment on them. I have already lost three days on my realm because of this issue.

    :)

I need help with Minecraft for Nintendo switch realms

Have you an active Nintendo Switch Online Subscription? I ask this because I found the following Q/A on Minecraft Nintendo Switch FAQ:

Can I play Realms on this edition?

Yes, Realms is available on the Bedrock edition of Minecraft for Nintendo Switch. To play online on a Nintendo Switch, you need to have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription, so this is a requirement for playing on Realms. More information about Nintendo Switch Online can be found here.

Furthermore, can you post the entire error message (better a screenshot/photo)?

How do I activate a Minecraft Realms on the Nintendo Switch?

    Hello NoahFTW69,

Let me help you with your concern today. Please note that this is a public forum, I apologize for a delay in response.

Sorry to hear you're having trouble. If you already purchased a Realm server, then it should automatically be created and listed under the "Realms" tab after paying for the subscription.

As for your question regarding the Microsoft account, if you're logged in to Minecraft on your Switch with an MS account, then it is already connected. There is no other way to link a Microsoft account on Nintendo aside from doing it in-game.

Let's try to check the Realm server you have purchased days ago if it is listed under Nintendo eShop and in-game. Kindly try to check if Realms is listed as active in here:

    1. Select Nintendo eShop on the HOME Menu to launch the Nintendo eShop.

    2. Select the account where you purchased Realms.

    3. Select your user icon in the upper-right corner to access your Account Information.

    4. Select My Subscriptions.

Then please check under your subscriptions in-game:

    1. Open Minecraft.

    2. Go to Settings. Select Subscriptions.

Do you see any active Realm? If yes, then it should already be created and activated. From the Minecraft main menu, kindly select Play > Worlds. Please choose "Create a new world", then select "Create new world", "Create on Realms". Please check if the Realms you paid for is listed under "Choose a Realm Server".

If it's just prompting you to purchase a new Realms server, then your Realms may not have been activated properly since it is not showing up in-game and if this is the case, you will need Minecraft support so they can help with activating it.
