Child Account's Nintendo Switch Multiplayer On Minecraft No Longer Available

    Hello,

I had set up a child's account on both the Nintendo Switch and Xbox live. I changed all privacy settings to make sure the child's account had access to multiplayer on Minecraft. I had successfully logged the child onto a server, and they were having a grand old time. Great.

Now the problem. The game was turned off and they returned to it today to log onto the server and it has gone back to the "Restricted For Multiplayer" again. I have checked the Xbox live setting, nothing was touched or done different in that 9 hour span.

    Steps we took:

We signed out of the microsoft account on the Nintendo Switch, restarted the console and signed back in again. - No success

We signed out of the microsoft account on the Nintendo Switch, powered off the console and signed back in using the child's account - No Success

We signed out of the microsoft account on the Nintendo Switch, powered off the console and signed back in using parent's xbox live account - Success

Could someone please tell me why the child's account no longer is allowing them to log on to the servers?

    Thank you!

    :)

    Minecraft Realms Nintendo Switch

    Hi Alex,

Thanks for reaching out to us in the forums for this issue with Minecraft Realms on the Nintendo Switch. Based on the message you received, it may be possible that your account doesn't have the correct permissions to access online multiplayer across different
    devices.

Is your account a child or adult account? Players under 13 years old will have online multiplayer disabled by default with Minecraft and
won’t be able to join Realms or servers unless a parent changes their account settings.
For help with changing these account settings, you will need to change your
Privacy and Online settings of the Xbox Live account.

For further information on this and other information related to Minecraft Realms or Minecraft on the Nintendo Switch, I recommend the following support articles:

Do you have a Nintendo Switch Online subscription?

Nintendo Switch Online subscription will be required for multiplayer. A free Microsoft account is recommended for players to get the most out of this version of Minecraft.

    Minecraft Realms on Nintendo Switch

    Hi!

Check your Microsoft account privacy settings here: https://account.xbox.com/settings

This article provides the privacy settings required to enable Minecraft multiplayer:

I'm trying to set up an Xbox Live or Microsoft Account (including Realms access for Child Accounts!)

If you’re playing on a Xbox, Sony PlayStation, or Nintendo Switch, you’ll need to make sure you have that console’s online subscription service active. That means you need an active subscription to Xbox Live Gold, PlayStation Plus, or Nintendo Switch Online as needed by your console.

    I hope it helps :)
