I plugged in a new headset that completely messed up my party and game chat

I bought a new headset (Razer Kraken Pro V3) for my Xbox One, but when I plugged it into my roller, I couldn't hear anything. Then, when I plugged my old headset back in, I could hear my game perfectly fine, but my party chat, and my in-game voice chat does not work. I can be hear because my name pops up on the overlay, but my teammates cannot hear me. I've already tried resetting audio settings, and factory resetting, but nothing has worked.

    :)

Hi there! This is Virginia O.

I understand that you are experiencing no sounds on the headset in a party and game chat.

I apologize for the inconvenienced this has caused you. I will do my best to help you.

Please reconfigure party chat settings. Press the Xbox button to open the guide and navigate to Settings > General > Volume & Audio Output.

Under Party Chat Output, ensure it’s set to Headset.

In Party Settings, ensure Allow Party Chat is enabled.

And then adjust microphone settings by going to Settings > Devices & Connections > Accessories. Select your controller, then configure your headset.

Confirm that the Mic Monitoring slider is appropriately adjusted to detect input.

Next is to reset privacy and communication settings. To do this, go to Settings > Account > Privacy & Online Safety.

Select Xbox Privacy > View Details & Customize > Communication & Multiplayer.

Make sure that all communication settings (like voice chat) are set to "Allow" or "Everyone".

Then update controller firmware because an outdated controller firmware can cause compatibility issues. Connect your controller to your Xbox via USB.

Go to Settings > Devices & Connections > Accessories. Select your controller and check for firmware updates.

After that is to test your network. Please ensure that your NAT type is Open (Settings > General > Network Settings). Restart your router and check your connection stability.

If the issue persist after performing the troubleshooting steps, kindly test with a different controller. Plug your headset into it to determine whether the issue is tied to your current controller.

    Thank you for your cooperation.

Why only party chat can go through TV speakers?

    Not game audio, game chat.

In settings, Xbox has an option to make party chat output go through your headset, headset and TV, or TV.

but that's only for party chat. i've always wondered why xbox can't do the same for in-game chat too?

With in game chat, if your headset is plugged in; game chat automatically goes to the headset, with no option to have it output through TV.

really sucks when you can't wear headsets, you can't play socially outside of parties. (in party chat; i use my headset mic, but have their voice output through my TV. game chat has no option to do this, you must wear your headset to hear teammates)

XBOX One Stereo Headset - Can't hear chat

I can now chat with most people via my new controller and a headset plugged directly into the 3.5 mm jack with no adaptor.

But, I cannot speak with my friend in either party chat or game chat. He has two xboxes connected. Perhaps that is the problem?

    They Wen That-A-Way Quest?

I personally think I messed up the game somehow and it will not let me complete this quest. If that was the case can the game be completed by skipping this quest or would I have to start a whole new game. If there is anybody willing to party chat with me
while I do mission that would be much appreciated! ")
