Xbox not recognizing password linked with email

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues logging in to your Xbox account. Did you recently change your password? To ensure that your cache is cleared on your console, I would recommend that you perform a power cycle, kindly follow the steps below.

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.

2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 50 seconds.

Important: Make sure that you wait at least 50 seconds. This step resets the power supply.

3. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.

If you don't see the green boot-up animation when the console restarts, repeat these steps. Make sure that you hold the power button until the console completely shuts down.

Important If your console is in Sleep mode, the above steps will shut the console off completely. Sleep mode, or the ability to turn on your console by saying "Xbox on," won't be enabled until you restart the console.

If this does not work, remove and then re-add your account to the console. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Remove your account from the console

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system > Settings > Account > Remove accounts.

Select your account, and then confirm removal.

Restart your console

Step 2: Re-add your account to the console

Press the Xbox button to open the guide.

Select Profile & system, and then Add or switch.

Select Add new.

Enter your Microsoft account email address and password.

Complete the personalization settings on the next several screens.

I also tried again with my email and got it correct but then if I enter the rambler.ru email into the password reset link that I was emailed it says that they do not recognize the email

Its telling me email and password are incorrect. My email and password work just fine on my phone and my xbox one. My gamer profile is still on my 360 also. It just wont recognize my email or password! ?

SappKM55 although we do like fellow users to help each other out creating a new thread should be if you have an issue not an answer. Next time it would be appreciated if you just replied to somebody with the issue. We do still appreciate your suggestion

Even if the email itself is no longer active, Xbox.com will still recognize it as a valid login. If you need to reset the password, you might not be able to use the "Email me a reset link" option. Try using the other options available. If that does not
work, you may need to contact customer support on the phone for further assistance.
