Transfer Xbox account to a different Microsoft account

So, I found out you can get v-bucks from microsoft rewards through the xbox gift card. I had bought the $10 card and when I went to redeem it inside fortnite, I found out the email linked to xbox is different from the email I used to purchase the gift card. I am so frustrated since these emails are different, I cant redeem the gift card into my fortnite account. My balance in microsoft is $10, but the microsoft account linked to my xbox account has $0. Is there any way to use this money without creating a new account????? If I delete the email linked to xbox, will my xbox account also be deleted? If not, can I then link my other email to the xbox account?

So I guess a better question would be, are DLC licenses tied to the specific xbox live account that bought them, or the gamertag associated with that account?

If one transfers a gamertag using these steps (support.xbox.com/.../switch-gamertag-to-different-microsoft-account),
does that transferred gamertag have access to the download history of the account it was just transferred to?
