I can't verify my other Microsoft account even though I have access to my gmail.

Hi there!

Please note that Gmail service is from Google while a Microsoft account is from Microsoft. Those accounts are separate and do not rely on each other. If your Gmail address is your Microsoft account's primary alias, it is used only like a username to log into your Microsoft account. Even if your Gmail address was deleted, your Microsoft account will stay active but you may have trouble accessing it or verifying it in a matter of time if Microsoft will ask you to verify your account by sending a code to your Gmail address. But it's not necessarily that you have the same password unless you set it correctly the same before.

If a Microsoft Account has an alias from a outside email provider (e.g. Gmail), and you remove that alias, it won't close the outside account that hosts that email address.

For example, my Microsoft Account has an @gmail.com currently configured as an alias. If I remove that alias, I'll still be able to access my Gmail via Gmail, using my Google Account while I continue to access my @outlook.com addresses via Outlook.com using my Microsoft Account.

Mind you, this is just general advice. If your mum has been using her Microsoft Account and Outlook.com to sync all her mail from Gmail she may not be familiar with Gmail's interfaces (and may not even have all the mail in her Gmail inbox anymore if it was sync'd to Outlook.com and deleted). You should also make sure your mum doesn't use the Microsoft Account to access any other services.

If I understood correctly, the Microsoft account was created with a gmail address and the system is asking you to verify your identity sending a code to this gmail but you can't do that because you don't have access to the account?

If that's not the case I appreciate if you describe a bit better the situation

PS: Please don't share personal information including email addresses , here in the forums no one can access to an account information directly

My account got hacked they changed everything gmail address all the information and i can't get access to the account because i lost my recovery code but i can show u proof that i made the account and that the information was changed to other gmail in private dms.

I've tried the form 4 times and it says I don't have enough information though I have ALL the information except the password to my gmail attached to the account. The gmail is the main email I can't remember the password to. The student email it wants to send info to in order to recover the account is deactivated because I graduated. Any other ideas? Any way to reach a live person at Microsoft to help me?
