    I am using a different account to create this QUESTION. Me and my friend purchase a game.


    My friend gifted me a game which is Minecraft which includes the java and bedrock edition. however, when I try to claim it to my account, it turned out to be region locked. Which is insanely absurd. Which is also our fault since we didn't know such a region lock existed.

    So what I did or atleast the easiest for us to claim the game and play together is for me to create a NEW ACCOUNT that is aligned with his region.

    We were able to play the game smoothly without any interruptions. I just came back home. And once I try to login Minecraft it says, I need to login. Which seems to be okay at some point.

    Until it wants me to VERIFY my account using a phone number, as I did it says

    "Try another verification method

    That verification method isn't working right now. Please try another method."

    I can't try anything. I am planning to unlock my account, but I can't.

    I tried to call customer service or atleast look for a live representative all I got is a bot that doesn't fully help me out.

    I need someone to unlock the account or atleast switch the game/account to a different region if that helps

    Just to confirm, do you think the purchases were on a different account? From what I am seeing, you didnt log in using the account on the XBox One and created a new account? If you are using the same account as the one which purchased the DLC, can you see it on the order history?

    I did not create a new account, or manage my account, nor have I tried to recover my account from a different console. This issue shouldn't be effecting me. My friends from the same city are not have the same issue with their xbox live, why am I having this
    issue?

    When I purchased Minecraft, it prompt me to create a Microsoft account to link it with, which is the one I am using now. I am 100% sure this email is linked when I purchased Minecraft but it does not appear under my Microsoft account order history.

    Hi, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

    Since you have used his account in checking the game but it is stated that he did not purchased it, there is a chance that it was purchased under a different account of your friend.

    Kindly ask your friend to sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/billing/orders to validate if it was purchased under the correct account.
