    Family group sign in recovery

about seven years ago whenever I got my PS4, my parents use their email to make their organizer Microsoft account and they added me to it as a child account but now currently they no longer have the email to sign in and so I don’t have online play and it won’t let me leave the family group because I need permission from the organizer but they can’t get into it because they don’t have the email no longer but I can still get into mine. Is there a way I can get my role changed to an organizer or access to leave the family group?

    :)

    Family group sign in recovery

    Hi J4rnn

Sorry to hear about what happened, however, your parents may need to recover the account to remove you from the group. Though, you can leave the family group on your own once you're of legal age.

A child/teen account is described as:

-Young child: Anyone under the age of 8

    -Child: Ages 8 through 12

-Teen: Ages 13 through 17 (or 18 in South Korea)

    For your reference here: https://support.xbox.com/help/family-online-saf...

Just sign in to your account (https://account.microsoft.com/family/home) click your profile > Under Windows, scroll at the bottom > Member settings and Leave family group.

    how to leave a family

Hi, I hope you're doing great out there. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regard to your concern.

This may mean that you're still a minor or yes, you're in a family group. If you're still a minor, you will not be able to leave the family group, the organizer is the only one that can do that.

To check if you're on a family group, please sign in to https://account.microsoft.com/family.

If you're not in a family group, and you're a minor you need to ask your guardian or a parent that is an adult to add you by signing in to their account via https://account.microsoft.com/family, once you're added as a member, they will sign in to https://account.xbox.com/settings to manage your account and privacy settings.

Hello , i have a problem i want to quit my family but I don’t have the option to quit please could you give me a solution

Hi Elouadghiri H, my name is Rishabh, I hope you are doing great out there. I’m happy to help you with your question.

Please note that the ability to leave a family group may depend on the permissions and roles set by the family organizer. If you do not see the option to leave the family group, it's possible that the family organizer has restricted this action. In that case, you might need to contact the family organizer to request to be removed from the family group.

If you're looking to leave a family group on Xbox, here's how you can do it:

    1. From Xbox Console:

Sign in to the Xbox console with the account that is part of the family group.
Press the Xbox button to open the guide.
Navigate to the "Profile & system" tab.
Scroll down to "Settings" and select "Account."
    Choose "Family settings."
Select the family member you want to remove from the family group.
    Choose "Remove from family."

    2. From Xbox Family Settings App:

Download and install the Xbox Family Settings app on your mobile device.
Sign in with the account that is part of the family group.
Open the app and navigate to the "Family" section.
Select the family member you want to remove.
    Choose "Remove from family."

    3. From Xbox Website:

Go to the Xbox Family Settings website: https://family.microsoft.com/.
Sign in with the account that is part of the family group.
Click on the family member's profile you want to remove.
    Select "Remove from family."

I hope this helps! Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Thanks and regards
    Rishabh Sohal

    Replacing account

I see. You must be using a different account email address that's why you can only access the new one. Your old account has a different email address. In order to begin with the account recovery, it is important that you first know the correct email address that's linked to your old account.

You mentioned that it was part of a family group? Please try to check it again using the Xbox Family Settings app. Make sure it's the organizer's account who's signed in on the app.

xbox account telling me its a child account tied to a parent account but I don't think it is

They need to create a family group where you will be added as a member. They need to sign in to htttps://account.microsoft.com/family and then add your Microsoft account as a member.
