Family members account not being saved on Xbox after sign in

I understand that you are experiencing issues with your son's account not saved on the Xbox.

Perform a full power cycle by pressing and holding the Xbox power button for about 10 seconds until it shuts down completely. Unplug it for a minute, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Please remove your son's account from the Xbox and then re-add it. To do this, go to Settings > Account > Remove accounts, select his account, and remove it. Then, add it back by selecting Add new under the same menu.

And then check Sign-In preferences. Do this on your Xbox, go to Settings > Account > Sign-in, security & passkey. Male sure that your son's account is set to automatically sign in. If it's not, enable this option.

Next is to check for system updates. Make sure that your Xbox is running the latest system software. Go to Settings > System > Updates and check for any available updates.

Two ways to tell if he is in a family as a child account already.

Sign into his account at account.microsoft.com/family if there is no other family members then he is an adult in his own family.

Sign into his account on the xbox console go into settings and under the account tab go to family settings and go down to manage family members and it will tell you if there are any family members in the family there.

Actually, If your dad is signed in on your console, you can sign on your account also and you will have gold. (if you're in his xbox family) Any other xbox family member can be signed on his home xbox without his account being signed on. Your dad can only play on one console at a time but can actually be signed on two.

You mean, add it to the family pack as a junior member? Download its profile to the console, then after the download, sign in with the senior account (the owner of the Family Pack) and go to
Settings | Family | Add Family Member.
