    Why I don't own the Java Edition version of Minecraft?


    I do not own the java edition version of the game, but I have the bedrock edition. I don't know why, it's not a borrowed account, I had this game since around 2021-2022. However, I downloaded it with a different microsoft account which I don't have access to now.

    If you bought the Pc version, you don't own the console one. Also on PC there's Minecraft Java edition and Minecraft Windows 10 edition

    My account was charged for game pass for pc and it says i have it but i cant play Minecraft Java

    As previously noted. Microsoft owns Minecraft, however Minecraft Java is not a Microsoft or Xbox game. The PC equivalent is “Minecraft Windows 10 edition” the Java version is a separate game not part of Minecraft bedrock, their-for not cross play with other devices.

    Xbox owns W10 edition not Java edition

    Let me help you with your concern today. Please note that this is a public forum, I apologize for a delay in response.

    Sorry to hear you're having trouble. I just want to clarify, do you mean you no longer have access to the account you used when you purchased Minecraft PC Bundle?

    If this is the case, please note that Bedrock Edition can shared on PC, but for Java Edition only the main account that purchased the game can play it. So if you are no longer using the account you used when you purchased the game, that is why you cannot access Java Edition.

    Minecraft will not open via launcher, only through microsoft store.

    Hello mimim2,

    The Minecraft launcher you are referring to is only for the Java edition of Minecraft. The Java edition and Windows 10, are two separate games. In order to launch and play Minecraft from the launcher you are using in the last image, you must buy the Java
    edition from the site, not the Windows 10 version. Minecraft Java Edition | Minecraft. Annoying I know, but when Microsoft acquired Minecraft they released
    their own version of the game on their platform. Hope this helps

    I'm being asked to buy Minecraft: Java and Bedrock edition although I have already owned Bedrock for years and I have Java on my laptop.

    The Xbox edition of Minecraft in the screenshot is still the Bedrock edition, is it not? I should have access to Java through owning the Bedrock edition, and I don't understand why I wouldn't be able to play it if I played Java in the past with my Microsoft account without having to buy Java.
