Minecraft Java edition says its running but wont actually open the window

I downloaded a different launcher (modrinth) and it now works I would just recommend people to get a non official Minecraft launcher and it should work haven’t tried the official launcher to see if it works yet

Bedrock edition opens fine, its literally just java edition, i want to play hypixel but it literally wont open

Hey damengriesheimer, sorry you're dealing with this launching issue. Especially after so much troubleshooting.

Can you try running the launcher as administrator?

You could also try making a new user account on the PC and launching from there to see if it's something to do with the profile.

Windows 10 minecraft and java edition are both two different types of Editions unfortunately you would have to buy the java edition on the minecraft website.

I bought the Windows 10 version of Minecraft by mistake, but the one I wanted was the java edition.

I saw that anyone who buys minecraft java edition is entitled to minecraft Windows 10. Is the reverse also true? Who buys minecraft windows 10 is entitled to minecraft java edition?

If so, how do I access the java edition version at no additional cost?
