    I have spent the past hour trying to get rid of the Xbox gamebar overlay on my desktop.


    I already have an FPS overlay that i prefer more and all of the guides online do not work.

    xbox game bar captured video doesn't show application's icon

    the logo might be an overlay from the program, the xbox gamebar will only capture the window or fullscreen application. it does not capture overlays all the time.

    Have you tried to look in the settings of the gamebar i believe you can get rid of it from there

    i kept Windows 7 too ... i just have a Windows 8 overlay :) which is all it really is .. i still have my windows 7 desktop and functions pretty much.
