Why doesn’t my left ear cup not work sliding between audio and voice chat settings or it’s...

I use the Xbox wireless headset and the issue happens with every game and happens in the main menu when I check the sound settings when I check the mixer

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I understand that you're having issues with your audio settings.

For us to isolate your issue, what specific brand and model of headset are you using?
Does this happen with any games or just with selected title?

To make sure that what you are experiencing is not related to your device cache, I would recommend that you perform a power cycle. Please note that this is different from a regular restart, Kindly follow the steps below.

1. Turn off your console by holding the Xbox button on the front of the console for approximately 10 seconds. The console will turn off.
2. Unplug the console's power cable. Wait 50 seconds.
Important: Make sure that you wait at least 50 seconds. This step resets the power supply.
3. Turn your console back on by pressing the Xbox button on the console or the Xbox button on your controller.
If you don't see the green boot-up animation when the console restarts, repeat these steps. Make sure that you hold the power button until the console completely shuts down.
Important If your console is in Sleep mode, the above steps will shut the console off completely. Sleep mode, or the ability to turn on your console by saying "Xbox on," won't be enabled until you restart the console.

Mine work just fine (audio not chat ).

I just plugged the connections into the audio out on my TV and I was fine. I've actually been using one cup on one ear with my x1 mic on the other. Got tired of not hearing people in CoD

Same here - Kinect is working great for voice commands, but not working for in-game voice, at least not in CoD.

@I0o Shifty o0I That's a good call for "party" chat, but unfortunately it doesn't work for the feature called "in-game voice" which is the talk between members in the lobby, and the just regular speaking that happens in the game. That would technically be
a work-around, but unfortunately, there should be a better way than having to invite everyone in the lobby to join a party, just to be able to talk to each other.

I'm thinking of toying with my Xbox Chat headset and seeing if I can fit the earpiece inside the ear cup of my surround headphones....

Open Chat mixer and make sure that the Mute all other sounds isn't checked (I use Do nothing on my consoles).

There is also an option missing in your Headset audio section which you need to check if you are "Using a headset that uses HDMI or optical audio out". The part in quote marks in last sentence is the missing option. Try changing to Windows Sonic for Headphones
to see if that adds the missing option. If it still doesn't show up then maybe try changing HDMI audio to Bitstream out too.

Check the Game volume on your headset left ear cup. If that is all the way down then you won't hear game sounds. Chat volume is adjusted on the right ear cup.
