    Trouble with network transfer

So i started transferring my xbox one games to my new xbox series s and about half way through the 31 game transfer it paused. I realized that i didn’t have the xbox one on sleep so i turned that on and made sure no updates are taking place during the transfer. Although the transfer still isn’t working. It just says “installation stopped” and when i click for more details it tells me to “check your other xbox. We can’t connect right now”. Help?

    :)

    Trouble with network transferring

Hi ElizabethPaulk, I hope you're doing great out there despite the issue that you're experiencing. I am an Independent advisor and I am here to help you in regards to your concern.

Please perform an extended powercycle on both Xbox consoles along with the router that you're using.

    1. Unplug the power cable from the back of the router, modem, or gateway for 5 minutes. If you have a router and a modem, unplug the power cable from both devices.

    2. Press and hold the Xbox button on your console for 10 seconds or until it turns off then wait for 2 minutes before turning it on again.

    3. After 5 minutes, plug the modem or gateway in first, and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

    4. If you are using a router, plug in the router and wait for all the lights to return to their normal state.

    Trouble with network transferring

Keep in mind this does NOT work for.disk games

Xbox series s is NOT compatible with disk games

If some of those are the games you are trying to network transfer it won't work

Disc games require verification since you don't have a disc drive you cant verify

Keep in mind you have to watch your file sizes

I'd cut down your disc games installs to.make room

The series s only has 512 gigs of space some of which is used by the os and system updates reservation

If anything you are better off using an external hdd and pluging it in

But if you are trying to network transfer disc games it doesn't remove the requirement and it will only slow you down for something that won't work

Network transfer of disk games only work on consoles with disc drives

    Not digital only consoles

The only games that work kn the series s is digital only and bc titles that are digital

    Network transfer

    Hi Law Maker!

Thanks for reaching out! Since you said that you are having
trouble copying some games to your new console via network transfer
you may want to ensure that you are meeting the correct criteria during transfer (example: not playing a game on the host Xbox). If you are meeting all the criteria, then any games or apps
that have not transferred over may need to be downloaded and installed manually via the new console, or you can also try restarting the network transfer itself.

    Hope this helps out!

Please be sure to let us know the results!

How do setup transfer game from one Xbox to another

Hello, Rhys L. I'm Arturo, a community user like you, and I'll be glad to provide assistance with your inquiry today.

I understand you're having trouble with the network transfer feature on Xbox.

Not only that, but I would like to ask if you have multiple routers or Wi-Fi extenders, both consoles are connected to the same router / extender?

If your answer is affirmative, may I know if the Network transfer feature is enabled for both consoles?

You can double-check this by following the steps below:

“Settings > System > Backup & transfer > Network transfer and check the Allow network transfer box. This makes that Xbox visible to other consoles on the same network.

Once you’ve allowed transferring from the “host” Xbox, turn on the console onto which you’ll be copying games and apps, and go to the same settings page. Your host Xbox should be listed.

Select the Xbox you want to copy from, choose the items to copy, then select Copy selected”.

    Regards,

    Arturo.
