Xbox keeps asking me to link my Microsoft Account

Whenever I try to access any Settings on my Xbox it asks me to link my Microsoft Account, but my Xbox is already linked. See screencap below.

When I try to link my account again, it doesn't work. It times out after 30 secs even if I complete the process.

This issue is stopping me from changing settings on my Xbox and is very frustrating.

For us to isolate your issue, can you provide the error message that you're receiving? To ensure that this is not related to cache, kindly try to use a different browser such as Microsoft Edge and InPrivate window when registering your device.

Go to https://support.xbox.com/contact-us

Verify that you are within the support window listed under Contact hours.

Click "Contact Us."

Choose the item from the drop-down menu that best addresses your issue.

View the support articles that are offered on the page to see if they can address your issue. If you need more help, click See contact options.

Choose the option to "Chat online" or "Request a call" on the following screen, then fill in the required information.

Yes I just did that, removed and re-added the device in my microsoft account and the xbox still asks me to link my microsoft account when attempting to access my Xbox settings. Specifically I am trying to access my Caprure settings but its happening for other settings too.

I even removed my Login account from the Xbox entirely and re-added it. I WAS able to perform the re-link when re-adding my account to the Xbox. This is only scenario when the linking works but didn't fix my issue.

Thank you for the update. Have you tried to remove the Xbox from your devices in your Microsoft account? If this is possible in your case, please try it and re-add the console.

No my Xbox is already linked to my Microsoft account, yet it still asks me to link when I try to access any settings on my Xbox.

I use the Microsoft authenticator app, so to link I enter the code on screen from the Xbox into Microsoft.com/link, approve the login on the authenticator app, and then nothing happens on the Xbox. The prompt to link my account times out and I cannot access the settings on my Xbox.

There is no error message.

I don’t think the account linking is working because my account is already linked; it’s a bug it’s not supposed to be asking me to link again.

Xbox keeps asking me to link my Microsoft Account
