help with changing email address on xbox

unfortunatly this is annoying and I have had it done to me, as stated you would have to recover the password to your old email address and remove it from your present email. Whenever you need to verify your email it will always send the code to your old
email. To that end, once done I suggest setting up the option to send the code to a mobile/Cell Phone.

Here are some great links on how ot reset, change, update your security proofs. Windows LIVE ID's and login issues are more assicated to Windows LIVE help not necessarily Xbox Support. Windows LIVE ID's are used for more than just Xbox accounts. So resetting
the secrutiy proofs is through their services and support pages, but Xbox.com does still have relevant information. The fist link is how to manage these proofs and even reset them. The second is how to update and remove.

Please take a look. There are a lot of great steps and information on these types of login issues. The best thing you can do is add a mobile phone number as well, that way since E-mails change more than mobile numbers, you will always be able to be text'd
a code instead of checking the email in another tab. Way easier and efficient.

0) If you already have a second Microsoft Account (formerly known as the Windows Live ID) you can skip step 1 altogether

1) Make a new Microsoft Account at
http://startup.live.com which after you complete it should lead you to the Account Summary

1A) If you don't get to the Account Summary page, go to
http://Account.Live.Com and sign in there.

1B) If you are prompted to cofirm the email address, please do so.

2) Complete the security information by clicking on the Edit Security Info link below. Make sure to add the Security Question down below as well as a cellular number in the Phone Numbers field and an alternate email address which is different from the Microsoft
Account address.

go.microsoft.com/fwlink in the address bar of your browser. Fill in the form there, with the subject EMAIL BEHIND MICROSOFT ID IS BROKEN - give a good working email where their support folks can find you. You should receive a response within a day, the

To change the email in your xbox account, you need to change the email of your windows live ID.
