Friends can't hear me when I have my headset plugged in

Can you try starting a party and check if the ring around your profile picture lights up when you speak? This will help determine if your microphone is detecting audio.

If it doesn’t light up, on your own party > Go to Settings > Audio Options > Ensure the audio levels are set correctly

Headset Volume - You can set it to Max

Headset Chat Mixer - Set it to Middle

Mic Monitoring - Set it to 75% or 100%

If you can't adjust these settings, please try the following steps:

STEP 1: POWER DRAIN (CONTROLLER)

1. Unplug your headset then remove the batteries on your controller even if it's turned on

2. Press and hold the Xbox button for 10 seconds. This will 1 the remaining power.

3. Wait 2 minutes.

4. Insert the batteries back to the controller and turn it on

STEP 2: POWER DRAIN (XBOX)

1. Make sure that your console is turned on then unplug the power cable at the back to turn it off.

2. Press the power button for about 15 seconds even though it's already off. (This will remove the remaining power on your Xbox)

3. Wait for 2 minutes and plug the power cable

4. Turn on the console and wait for the dashboard to appear

5. Slowly plug the headset cord in, very slowly. If done correctly, you should hear a slight static sound as it connects.

6. Try to adjust the settings again.

I have to agree with the original post. It is really becoming annoying when I constantly (not just myself, everyone I know) have to reset my xbox because the chat stops working.... I can hear them but they can't hear me...Or they can hear me and I can't
hear them. I had this issue with my xbox headset and with the XBOX ONE turtle beach headset I have.... As does my friends with xbox headsets and different turtle beach headsets.

I have sound on my TV but when I plug in my Turtle beach headset my Game audio disappears but the headset is working for chat , I can hear friends ...

Yes I have tried 3 different controllers and even purchased a new headset. My headset still causes a echo in party chat even with the physical mute button toggled on. Friends can't hear me speak, but can all hear themselves echo coming from my headset. I have also updated the controllers with the headset plugged in. I've read somewhere that it could be caused by an issue with my router/firewall settings, but can't find anything to indicate what settings might be causing it.

I have the afterglow headset when I try to plug my headphones up to chat I hear no sound I can hear myself but my friends can hear my sound
