    So this issue had come up in the past couple of days where I will be playing causally and after 30mins after turning on my Xbox and tv my tv screen will go blank not off but just a black screen. I have to turn it on and back on again for the picture if come back on. I’ve used my tv without my Xbox and to my knowledge it’s not happening on when I use my Xbox. However once the first initial screen going black it will do it more frequently until it’s almost 5 seconds apart, I’ve changed hdmi cable and plugs into my Xbox changed extension leads, and my Xbox isn’t heating up. It’s the Xbox one s. Is it done for?

    Hello Sean, sorry to hear you're having trouble with the TV and console.

    This sounds like you have HDMI-CEC set up on your console. This will allow the console to turn the TV on or off when you turn the console on or off.

    It's possible that the console has not fully shut down when you turn off the TV so it could be getting a false 'turn on' signal from the console. I'd suggest waiting a moment after turning off the console to turn off the TV or turn off the HDMI-CEC setting on your console.

    TV Turns off when turning xbox on

    Guess you have set up the xbox to turn on the tv and receiver. So it tries to do that when it is turned on (Xbox cannot sense that it is already on).

    Your tv model responds to turn on/off with the same infrared signal. So when it is on, it will turn off and vice versa with the same command. That's not a fault/problem from the xbox but from the tv manufacturer.

    So two options:

    - always turn on the tv by turning on the xbox and turn the tv off by turning the xbox off

    - or do not let the xbox turn on your tv and do that manually

    Silent so when you turn the tv off via the xbox the tv light goes off. the dvr light goes off and the ONE light goes off?

    And then simply saying XBOX ON it turns on then say tv on the tv and dvr turn on?

    Turning on my Xbox turns my TV OFF!

    Make sure the TV is off and the Xbox is off. So that way, when you turn the Xbox on, it will then turn on the TV.
