It is only when you werent given an option when you joined xbox live

When i go to change it it says i have to pay. But i never changed the name so i should still have a free gamertag change

Sorry you will have to pay to change it or wait til somebody reports it and gets the randomly generated replacement name. Which you will still have to pay to change it. I say pay to change it and make your brother pay you back.

Hi, sorry no way to change it unless you pay the $10 for a name change. If it was me Id make my friend pay for it since they changed it.

I still think that if someone found my name to be offensive that i should be giving the option of changing it to something thats not offensive without having to pay for it. The name they gave me is stupid and since im paying to play online i refuse to use
