    Why can I not send messages on the Xbox app but receive them?


    I went through a whole song and dance with tech support already and they weren’t much help. Basically me and a friend have experienced time spans where the Xbox messaging will be unavailable in a way to where an individual cannot send messages to anyone, but they can still receive and view messages, and communicate via Party chats both voice and text. Has anyone else experienced this and know a remedy

    Is this issue happening right now? If not but it happens at some point, kindly check if there is an ongoing issue with Xbox services in your area.

    Message failed to send

    I have done what you have posted on Xbox 360 and I can now receive, read and reply to messages on Xbox 360 but I still can’t send messages or read them on Xbox one or Xbox app.

    A silver membership can actually send/receive messages. They just can't play on Xbox Live or join a party.

    .

    As for why you can't send messages, I came up with the following reasons why:

    .

    - Your/Their account is banned

    - Your/Their Inbox is full

    - Etc.

    .

    What I recommend you to do is to contact Customer Support and have them look into your account as to why you are not able to send messages. This is usually not an error and a legitimate reason to why someone wouldn't be able to send messages.
