    How to fix my Xbox controller?


    My Xbox controller works fine but the RT and LT triggers when I’m trying to play a driving game and only when I’m driving in a game. It works fine for other games so how can I fix it?

    Thank you for posting in Microsoft Xbox Community. I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with your controller's trigger buttons. I understand that you are only experiencing issues when using it in a driving game.

    Is there a specific game that you are referring to or this issue happens to all driving games?

    Do you have a different controller that you can use to test and compare if you will encounter the same issue?

    As part of our initial troubleshooting, please power cycle your controller: Press and hold the Xbox button for 5-10 seconds until the controller turns off. Wait a few seconds, and then press and hold the Xbox button again to turn the controller back on.

    In addition, kindly make sure that you have the latest firmware updates installed:

    Connect the controller directly to your console or Windows device using a USB-C cable.

    If the controller works properly with a cable connection, continue to the next step.

    On an Xbox console, press the Xbox button to open the guide and then select Profile & system > Settings > Devices & connections > Controllers & headsets. Select “…” under the controller that you're troubleshooting to check the firmware status.

    This is how I fixed my controller. Put your controller on pairing mode and restart your Xbox by pressing holding the start button. Then turn your Xbox on and pair the controller. Your controller will start working again.
