Xbox Series X will no longer play DVDs

I live in the US and have always lived here. My Xbox Series X just started having an issue playing DVDs (it used to play them just fine) and the error message states:

“Sorry, we can’t play this disc. The disc is made for region 1 and this console is designed for region 2. (Ox91d70005)”

I checked the language/region and it’s still listed as United States. I have not changed countries or tried to change regions so it should still be region 1.

I have reset the console multiple times and even deleted the Blu-ray app and reinstalled it.

How can I get my Xbox to play dvds again?

I am aware that you're experiencing issues with your Xbox controller not controlling DVDs on your Xbox Series X. Let's try a few troubleshooting steps to see if we can resolve the issue.

First, try using a different controller to see if the issue persists. If the issue is still present, try cleaning the DVD and the DVD drive on your Xbox Series X. You can use a soft, lint-free cloth to gently clean the DVD and the DVD drive.

Connect Your Controller to the Console with a USB Cable:

You can use a USB to micro-USB cable to connect your controller to your Xbox. The cable will provide both power and a wired connection to the controller.

If the issue still persists, try updating your Xbox Series X to the latest software version. To do this, go to Settings > System > Updates & downloads > Console update available. If an update is available, select Update now.

Restart Your Console:

If you installed a DVD correctly and are seeing a black screen when you try to play it on your Xbox Series X console, eject the disc, and then restart the console. After the console has restarted and returned to the Home screen, insert the DVD again.

My HD DVD player no longer plays HD DVDs after the latest update. It still plays DVDs. With HD DVDs it starts to load the movie, then crashes back to the XBOX home screen. Anyone have any useful tips?

It actually seem to be the disc im trying to play if i put another dvd in it works fine which is strange iv tried several discs and they all work apart from this one and if i put that disc in my pc it works fine but it used to work on my xbox one x before i got my series x its not the disc as it works on my pc and actual old dvd player
