My Xbox one turns on but shows a black home screen

Same black screen. Power display shows on, my Tv HDMI input shows receiving signal but black screen on xbox. Home button shows it’s there and option to turn console off or controller off but that is all I can do. Smh !

Nothing else shows up when I press the Xbox button on the controller. The power button doesn’t work when I press it and I’m not sure about the ejection button but when I press it too it doesn’t make a sound

So the shutdown screen still appears when you hold down the Xbox button on the controller?

Are you able to tap the Xbox button to bring up the guide?

Also, which button is broken on your Xbox itself? The power button?

Okay , I’ll have to try tomorrow night and see if I can hear anything I have to work early so I’m off to bed hopefully you are still around to reply to me if it does end up working thank you

If you turn your console on, press the Xbox button to open the guide (even though you can't see it) and then you move the left stick up and down, can you hear it making the noise of you navigating the guide?

Also, have you tried a different HDMI cable and, if possible, a different monitor/TV?

Resetting the video settings requires you to hold in certain buttons on the console itself when it's booting, as does booting it into recovery mode, so if trying a different HDMI cable or screen doesn't help, your only hope is if you can hear the navigation sounds when you open the guide, cos then you can blindly navigate to the option to do a factory reset. I can help you with that if necessary and tell you what you need to press.

If you don't hear any navigation sounds, I'm not sure what you can do, given the faulty buttons on your console.
