Sea of thieves not downloading in microsoft store

Hello, yesterday I activated a code from friend of the game sea of thieves 2024 edition on microsoft store. I started the download and everything looked fine until it downloaded the full 115 GB. When it finished downloading/installing it got stuck on I dont know probably veryfication step??? In the store the button on the product keept switching between pending, veryfing, veryfing download 0.10 B out of 115 GB then skips to play and then the process repets, all of this happens in like 8 seconds so I barely can even read what its saying. When I opened the "downloaded app" from my library (not the game page in store) The game opened I logged in but then it said "update needed" and then started the same cycle as the store. I dont know what to do... Then I pressed pause button... it didnt work, when I pressed the cancel button it also didnt work when I pressed a different cancel button on a different page in store it worked but then I had to install the whole game again. And now I am at the same spot as before. I tried wsreset I tried to delete the cache file manually but that also didnt work, I also have tried the windows update and app store troubleshooter. Please help me.

I think it is because you are trying to download Sea of thieves instead of the anniversary edition.

Try this:

Open the Microsoft Store(No the gamepass app), then search for Sea of thieves: Anniversary Edition and try to download that.

On the Microsoft Store I cannot see Sea Of Thieves, I can only see it on the Xbox Client, but I can see the download on Microsoft Store, even the error.

open the windows store and search sea of thieves, see if one of them will let you download. as windows 10 xbox app uses the store to download.

You may be correct, Krystian. I found a helpful article from Sea of Thieves Support:

"When purchasing Bundles and Ancient Coin packs for Sea of Thieves, it is important that you purchase through the correct store for the platform in which you are playing. Otherwise you may not receive the items in which you have purchased!

So this means that if you are playing on the Steam version of Sea of Thieves, then you must purchase your content through the Steam store. And likewise, if you are using the Microsoft Store or Xbox version of Sea of thieves, then you must purchase your content through the Microsoft Store."
