How to correct region and currency details on Xbox and Microsoft account?

I'm having an issue where whenever I try make a purchase it says incorrect region. All my settings on my Xbox, it's account and my Microsoft account are all set as South Africa (where I am). As well as my payment method and address. Everything is set to South Africa. But I still get the error. What I do find odd is that my Microsoft account balance says 0.00 but in USD, which is strange because it should be in ZAR. I'm sure that's an indication of an issue, but I don't know where to look. I've tried everything.

No one here has any ability to look at your account or anything to do with money. You would have to open a ticket with Support

You will also want to make sure that your Microsoft account (and by extension the currency used for digital purchases) matches your correct region. Instructions for how to do so are here :

Thank you for contacting Forum support.

Sorry to hear there is an issue with the region.

Unfortunately, since the currency was already purchased it cannot be converted from one currency to another. There will be two separate balances on the account if you switch to your original region.

Basically when you purchase new currency it will apply to the correct region, but you will still have the other region balance as well (this will not add to your current balance, but it will show a septate balance).

Make sure the region on the console is set to the correct one. check out this link:

Also, try to set it on
Xbox.com as well to the correct region.

Click on your profile

Select Xbox Settings

Select "Change 360 account region"

then click on your region then once set
Power Cycle your console.

With xbox games you have to use your physical region when using your account or you will have issues

In order to use currency on an account your account region must match the currency
