How to link Xbox Live account to Windows Phone 8.1?

I was recently thinking of getting an old Nokia Lumia phone, running Windows Phone 8.1, mainly for use as a cheap but aesthetically pleasing MP3 player. However, I thought it would also be neat to have my Xbox Live profile linked up to it. I've seen old videos of people doing that and being able to, for example, see their Xbox 360 Avatar on their phone. I was wondering: is it still possible to do this, and if so, how do I do it? Thanks!

no windows phone is supported anymore, windows phone eight support ended before Windows phone 10. There is no way to login into your Xbox account or access anything anymore

In order to use the Xbox Live account you want, you will need to

I'm not sure about the support on windows 8.1 but windows phone has been discontinued as I know

Hi, apparently it was a server problem. While things concerning the XBOX app have not changed for either of the two operating systems, Microsoft Solitaire Collection on Windows Phone 8.1 is signing into XBOX again. I don't know how long this will last for.

I want T.V. D.V.R. and streaming on Windows, it's the ONLY reason I watched the event, Microsoft said it will be unifying all platforms, ¿why not the T.V. with the Tablet, phone and P.C.? not just apps, I mean actually watching cable-/satellite-T.V. on those
devices, just like with Microsoft Mediaroom.

A built-in app for Windows 8.1 (Blue) named Xbox TV that could stream any content on a P.C., Tablet or Phone linked to the Microsoft-account of an Xbox LIVE Gold-member, easy as that.

A software called MiraCast is being included in the Windows 8.1 update and could easily be used with WiFi direct for tablet to TV through the XB1 if they set it up right.
