Yesterday, my Microsoft account was stolen, and all my data was changed. Just when I thought the situation was under control, I discovered that I couldn’t log into my Xbox account, and worse – it seems like it doesn’t exist. This worries me because I have made purchases in the form of games on this account.

The problem is that I have already recovered my Microsoft account, but the Xbox account where I had my games does not seem to exist. Xbox is prompting me to set a new gamertag as if I had just created a new account.

If you attempt to log in and receive a message stating that the account does not exist, it means the account either doesn't exist or has been closed. This can happen when there has been no activities in the last two years. Once an address is removed or deleted, it cannot be used again, which then gives you a message account that already exists. This is also possible when your account has been compromised which based on your description is what had happened.

Got it. I am glad you were able to get into your account again. Can you please go to account.microsoft.com and head over to your order history, check if you can see all your transactions there.

Unfortunately Microsoft/Xbox can not help in this situation.

Please file a stolen item report with your local police department.

Also change the password of all accounts that were on that console so they can't use it:

Unfortunately xbox can not render a console unusable because as far as they know, that person bought it from you.

Sorry there is no way to track a stolen device like this. You can shutdown access to the console by changing your password to the account.

Microsoft does recommend that you file a police report and give them you console's information.
