Questions about the Xbox App, Future Playability of Xbox Games, and Hardware Feedback

Dear Xbox Team,

I have a few questions and suggestions regarding the current and future development of the Xbox platform:

1. 4K Streaming and the Xbox App:
   • When will the 4K streaming option for cloud gaming be introduced?
   • Will the Xbox App on PC support cloud gaming directly in the future?
2. Future of the Xbox Platform: I’ve purchased around 450 Xbox games over the past four years, and I'm thinking about the long-term future of the platform. Should Microsoft eventually shift to being solely a publisher and discontinue Xbox consoles, it’s crucial to me that my purchased games remain playable beyond cloud gaming.My suggestion: In such a case, the Xbox App on PC should allow users to install and play Xbox games directly. An integrated Xbox console emulation within the app would be an ideal solution. I’m not asking for full offline support — but the games should run locally on a Windows PC without relying solely on cloud streaming, ensuring no compromise in game quality.This approach would guarantee that digital purchases remain accessible without depending entirely on streaming services or specific hardware.
3. Hardware and Controller Feedback: I’d also like to share a few ideas for improving Xbox hardware and controllers:
   • Temporary installation storage: Currently, game updates often require 50–70 GB of free space due to temporary files. A dedicated cache for installations would prevent users from having to constantly manage storage.
   • Dust protection: The console could benefit from a better dust protection system — for example, removable and cleanable filters — to stop dust from accumulating inside.
   • Controller connection improvements: Instead of using the current Connect button to switch between devices, a dedicated switch for connection modes would be more practical. This could let players choose between:
     • Channel 1: Xbox
     • Channel 2: PC
     • Channel 3: Smartphone This would prevent the Xbox from turning on automatically when I just want to use the controller on my PC or phone.
   • Sustainability: Xbox controllers should be more modular, allowing buttons, sticks, and triggers to be easily replaced if they break. Over the past four years, I’ve had to buy three new controllers and contact support twice. Making hardware designed for longevity would reduce unnecessary electronic waste.
   • More USB ports: Additional USB ports on the Xbox would be helpful, especially for connecting headsets, external drives, and charging accessories simultaneously.

I hope this feedback helps shape the future of the Xbox platform and its hardware. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on these ideas and my questions.
