    Why do my elite controllers suddenly become paper weights?


    Hoping somebody can give me a real answer. Every single elite controller I’ve owned for the past 3 years just suddenly turn off and never work again. The lights will come off but flicker randomly with no response from any inputs. I really wish Microsoft cared about their products as much as they want us to. They won’t even give me a response from an employee, it’ll be some poor “ambassador” that also has no idea what’s wrong with this garbage product. And yes I’ve connected it with a wire, yes I’ve held the power button down until it turns off that doesn’t work, no I’ve never thrown or dropped a controller. Your product is defective and you’ve lost a customer. I’ve owned Xbox since your very first console but I’m out, I’ve spent literally thousands of dollars JUST ON CONTOLLERS

    i now literally have a 200 dollar brick that is my new xbox elite wireless controller series 2 controller nobody seems to want to take it back and microsoft doesnt have any support for it. i have the same issue with the controller xbox accessories app is useless i however am using windows 11 i have no way to update firmware and the controller only wrks to open the xbox window and take pics of my screen . this is outstanding that a company so large cant assign a few technicans to fix the above issue. i have done everything that has been told to do and have a 200 dollar paper weight ..... i see a class action law suit comming for selling a controller when all it is is a paper weight......

    It sounds like you have the same problem I experienced with my Elite controller. There is a control module that senses the position of the joystick and I'm learning online the Microsoft Xbox controllers are notorious for these modules failing. Depending
    on the severity, it can make the controller no longer usable. My call just now with Microsoft support ended with, "Please post your problem to the forum as your controller is no longer under warranty." It is less than a year old and now I have a $150 paper
    weight.....

    Elite 2 contoller.

    I completely agree. I was super excited to get this controller but now its a $200 paper weight.

    It definitely has to be the elite just on the weight alone, not even considering the added functionality. My dream controller would be an improved elite controller but translucent reminiscent of the original xbox crystal controller.
