  1. Xbox Elite Series 2 Controller randomly disconnecting, having other issues

I have an Xbox controller that I only purchased about 6 months ago that keeps randomly disconnecting, it does not matter whether it's wired or connected through Bluetooth, the issue persists. It is not just a single game, it happens on every game the exact same way.

In addition, Windows will constantly notify me with a popup that says "The last USB device you connected to this computer malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it" (see attached photo). The "Xbox accessories app also will not recognize the controller as connected via USB no matter what I do.

What I've tried so far since noticing this problem:

    1. Making sure the controller is fully charged

    2. Reset both the controller and my PC multiple times (please don't tell me to do these two things, I have tried a million times)

    3. I've turned off all other Bluetooth devices in my entire house

    4. Tried every single USB port on my PC

    5. Tried three other USB cables, including the one it came with, in every single port with every one of them.

    6. Downloading the "Xbox accessories" app on Windows 11 and updating the firmware. I had the issue before I updated the firmware. Also, before I did this, the Xbox accessories app could recognize it as connected through USB but it no longer can.

    7. Updated the drivers through the device manager

    8. Disabled "Steam input enabled" setting on steam

    9. Enabled "Steam input enabled" setting on steam

    10. Toggling literally every single possible combination of settings on Steam (I don't think it's steam since it will drop connection even when the Xbox accessories app is the only program open on my computer, but I tried it anyway)

    11. Opening up my controller and replacing the battery with a brand new battery from Microsoft

I've been at this for weeks and at this point I don't know what to try next.

    :)

    Elite Controller Disconnecting

Hello RobHM1, I am an independent advisor and I will be happy to help you today. My name is Khaji

I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing disconnection issues with your Elite Series 2 controller on your Xbox Series X.

First make sure the Elite Series 2 controller battery is fully charged. A low battery can cause intermittent disconnections. It is always advisable to use fully charged batteries or keep the controller connected via a USB cable.

Check to see if firmware updates are available for your Elite Series 2 controller. You can do this through the Xbox Accessories app on your Xbox Series X console. Keeping firmware up-to-date can fix connectivity and stability issues.

If you are using the controller wirelessly, make sure there is no nearby interference that could affect the signal. Move other wireless devices such as routers, cell phones, or other Bluetooth devices away from your Xbox and the controller. You can also try changing a wired connection using a USB cable to rule out wireless connectivity issues.

If you have access to another controller, try connecting it to your Xbox Series X and playing for a while to see if you experience the same disconnection issues. This will help you determine if the issue is specifically related to the Elite Series 2 controller or if it is broader.

Reset the controller settings You can try resetting the Elite Series 2 controller to factory settings. To do this, press and hold the profile and sync buttons on the back of the controller until all four LED indicators flash. Then, pair the controller with your Xbox again and check if the issue still occurs.

Thank you very much for your patience and understanding! If you need anything else, do not hesitate to contact us again.

Xbox elite series 2 disconnect from my xbox one x all the time, 1 day old controller

Since the Elite Series 2 has the battery built in, then you cannot change them. If the controller is constantly disconnecting, and you have no issues with your other controllers, then you are better off taking it back and either get a replacement or money
    back.

This did not work, I also noticed that if I shut off the XBOX One X it disconnects this controller and I have to reconnect it on startup. This does not happen with my other controllers just the Elite series 2 one.. I'll request a replacement

    Elite Controller 2 Bluetooth issues

Having similar Issues. My Elite series 2 controller works fine for about an hour or so, then will disconnect. Half the time it will auto reconnect after 2 or 3 seconds, the other half it will not reconnect at all and I have to manually turn off the controller
and turn it back on for it to reconnect. Each time it does disconnect the frame rate of the game plummets for a few seconds. Then after some time passes, roughly an hour give or take, the issue will repeat for the entire gaming session.

My windows 10 is up to date as of this posting at build 1909 and my Elite series 2 controller is updated as well.

The support article for troubleshooting bluetooth issues on windows 10 does not help with the issue.

I have never connected the Elite series 2 controller to my Xbox One S, I bought it solely for PC gaming.

Forgot to mention, I am connecting via bluetooth. I do not have a wireless adapter nor do I want to connect using a usb cable.
