My laptop's refresh rate keeps changing whenever I launch a game that uses a launcher

I recently did contact NVIDIA Customer Support but I didn't respond in 72 hours so my problem was deemed resolved. My Laptop's refresh rate changes from 165hz to 60hz whenever i launch a game from steam, valorant or any game that uses a launcher. I've already performed clean installation of all the drivers and have updated windows as well. When I launch a game from a game launcher, I get a second display named the wired display even though I am not using an external display at all and it will change the refresh rate from 165 hz to 60hz. The following video is an example of what happens.

what do you use for Display

    Refresh rates explained.

Also an important part of this link:

Remember these modes don't add any actual detail to the video, and you might want to disable them when watching every-day, non-action content. A 120Hz refresh rate can be beneficial for certain situations, but a higher refresh rate should not be considered
a good reasons to spend more on an HDTV. For most television and movie watching, you'll probably want to keep the refresh rate set to 60Hz, anyway. Just keep the benefits in mind for sports and games, and don't feel the need to push past 120Hz. Anything higher
really is more of a gimmick than a truly useful feature.

2k with 120hz XBOX ONE X not working with HP X27i

Yes I'm there and the Game is for 2k. So that is not the problem.

My Xbox One X will not accepted the Setting "1440p with 120hz" with my HP X27i Monitor. Do you now that issue ?
With a lot of monitors, the lower the resolution, the higher the refresh rate you can have.

Near as I can tell, that monitor has a native refresh rate at 1440p of 60Hz (that is what it defaults to)...it then uses Variable refresh rate to bump it up higher. As noted above, the EDID fails as the Xbox needs a 120Hz setting to run at 120Hz. The monitor will definitely do 120Hz via HDMI but only on a PC/Laptop it seems.

I can't confirm it but I suspect that the monitor's native RR for 1080p is 120Hz.

This has been an issue for quite a few HP models, both whilst using the One X and also whilst using the newer Series X/S's

Cannot display 120hz on my series x at 4k

whenever you see a refresh rate that is not a multiple of 60, this is a refresh rate that is likely fake and designed to be used with a computer.l

Most monitors use the cheapest possible software and electronics, relying on the computer to fill the gaps. your monitor is not capable of 4K 120 Hz, only 60

If you didn't pay at least $500 for your display, chances are it can't actually do 120 Hz.

Xbox currently does not support monitors in the range of 61-119Hz. Will the Series S/X support this? Can The One X be Software Updated?

you cant change refresh rate when vrr is enabled as the console is using variable refresh rate, if you get me, so you set at 60, you enable vrr then it ignores the 60 as you cannot change that or access that setting when vrr is enabled.

Fallout 76 doesnt start at all

    Hi.
    A. Don't worry, try it when possible.

    F. Before trying that change your screen resolution and if maybe you have a monitor / you're using a higher refresh rate than 60, set the refresh rate to 60Hz and try opening the game. (Can be a bit odd, but worth doing it)
