Is it possible to view looking for group posts for games you don't own on windows PC?

I made my question above quite general however the specific problem I'm running into is quite specific. When I used to play on an Xbox One, I could go onto any game's page and look at the looking for group pots for that game, even if I didn't own it. Although this didn't help me with anything then, I've realized now that after switching to playing on a Windows PC the only way I can view looking for group posts is by launching the game and using the game bar looking for group posts feature. This bothers me as when I launch Minecraft I can only see group posts for the game "Minecraft for Windows" and not posts from the wider and much larger whole Xbox community even though cross-play is possible between PC and Xbox users.

To summarize, I'm simply wondering if there is a way for me to check the group posts for Minecraft from not just the Windows players, but from all Xbox players too and if not is there a reason why this may never be a feature or it there the possibility of it eventually being added. Is it possible to view looking for group posts for games you don't own on windows PC? :)

    Thank You -

    :)

Is it possible to view looking for group posts for games you don't own on windows PC?

    Hello Dear User

    Welcome to the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are having trouble on looking for group feature in pc, and I understand your confusion.

Unfortunately, as of now, there are some limitations regarding LFG posts that you can view across platforms, particularly when it comes to checking for posts for games you don't own directly on a PC.

This limitation is partly due to how the LFG system is designed on different platforms and how Microsoft handles platform-specific content and interactions. While cross-play is possible, the community interaction between different versions isn’t always unified on the LFG feature, making it harder to see posts across versions and platforms.

You’re already using the game bar LFG feature, which is the most straightforward way to access posts from within a game. If you want to view posts from Xbox players without launching Minecraft, you could try checking Xbox's Looking for Group section on the console or web version. However, this also limits you to only viewing posts within that version of the game you’re actively using (Minecraft for Windows). As a Community member, we are not involved in the development of this feature, but of course I hope it will be improved for the benefit of players like you, so I invite you to send feedback with the link below, and you can call more friends to do that too, It is more likely that a sufficient number of problem reports will be brought to the attention of the related team.

    Anyone play anymore?

Hi there, I don't own this game, but a good way to find people to play with would be to make a Looking For Group post and put in the description what it is that you want to do in the game.

Windows Looking for group post issue

    Hello PlasmaSyncz,

In addition to my colleague's suggestion, the Looking for Group feature is included in the Game Bar.

You can press Win+G and the Game Bar will show up. If you do not see it, you can click on the Widget Menu and you can select the Widgets you prefer, and even favorite them.

As you can see, Looking for Group is under the Widgets.
