Why does my arctis pro mic work on everything except my series x?

Geri, I'm not sure if you still are receiving this thread but I did get my replacement Xbox controller today and I hooked it up to my series X and everything worked fine except that there is no sound coming through my wired headphones. These are Arctis Prime Steel Series wired headphones that worked fine with all my other controllers and just recently with my Xbox series X controller but when I connected to the Elite control they sent me it does there's no sound coming through. I cleaned the port a harder rebooted my Xbox Series X I updated the firmware and still no results.

Do you have any suggestions?

Could not be the tv as my ps5 works fine with the same setup. My ps4 pro worked fine too and so does my pc with atmos as well. The only issue i have is with the series x.

Might be late to the conversation but, I've been using my Sennheiser hd58x with my XB1x via soundblaster g6 external dac/amp and honestly it's the best audio I can get till I get my hands on my argon mk3 in the mail. But anyway sounds like you have some
hifi audiophile gear so I highly recommend purchasing the soundblaster g6. Hooks up via optical cable so low to no latency. And the additional Dolby atmos option just sounds better with some power behind the headphones. Problem is no game chat. I found if
you connect to your controller with another headphone, the mic (this case my weak arctis pro) does work and the game audio works to the 58x when connected to the amp. Problem is I cant hear my friends through the amp but they can hear me with my arctis pro
hanging around my neck. Both chat and audio work on the arctis most likely due to it plugged into controller. What's odd is that once I unplug the arctis from controller I hear my friends and game audio on the 58x. It's like that little 3.5 mm plug shuts
off the chat output to speakers and headset option in settings for some odd reason. I'm still tinkering though... In any case the g6 amp is my recommendation.

I am having the same issue with my mic and its not the headset or the controller but rather the update for the controller if there was a way to go back to the default version i would like to do that. I updated the original controller that came with the
Xbox one X and a new wireless controller while having my Steelseries Arctis 3 headset pluged in as suggested for both controllers now the mic only works on my wired controller. I will put the version of the update i am referring to shortly.

nope my suspensions have ended, and everything works fine except messaging, and you can't hear my mic in party chat
