    Gamertag has numbers now. How do I fix it?


    I had an Xbox account on my husband's Xbox that I didn't really use, as I primarily play games on PC. I like my gamertag though, so I made my EA/Apex username the same as my Xbox gamertag. Today I decided to switch to console for the first time, and now my gamertag both in Apex and just in general has numbers on the end. This wasn't the case before as far as I'd noticed. How do I get rid of the numbers?

    I've read through a lot of these forum posts and it seems like it's usually an issue when the gamertag isn't unique, but I didn't have this issue before changing my EA name to my gamertag and all the gamertag checker sites I see say that my gamertag is unique.

    How do I get a gamertag with no numbers.

    As long as no one else has it, you'll need to give the system time to update so it recognizes the original was freed up.

    Is there a way to remove the new gamertag that includes numbers from my account?

    The numbers reflect a shared gamertag that others have so the numbers are used to differentiate everyone using the shared gamertag.

    If you can create a unique gamertag that no one else has then you will have that name witout any numbers at the end as you will be the sole occupier of said gamertag but given how many users are on xbox now it might be a struggle to find something unique
    enough to achieve this but i wish you good luck 🤞
