Does my series s controller have a mic built in?

Unfortunately, there is no built-in mic on the Xbox Series X and no bluetooth support if you're thinking to go that route.



You will need to attach a headset with a mic to the Xbox Series X controller. The Xbox Series X controller uses a standard 2.5mm audio connection for Xbox Live, you can use any standard headset. (It does not have to be something fancy or expensive.)

Multiple headsets and controllers on the series S does not have sound when using the mic, right? Do you have another profile that you can try? Just to check if its not profile related.

Thanks for all the help. It's a new series X and I've tested another series S controller and it's the same. After searching it seems to be a combination of built in zones and response curves and that the sticks on the xbox have way less tension than ps4. Doesn't work well for my man hands.

The Elite controller does not have Bluetooth.

Only the new revision of the regular Xbox One controller (released with Xbox One S systems) has a Bluetooth radio built-in.

does his mic have a built in mute button on either side of the headset or an adjustable position mic itself which sometimes also act as a mute button other times once the mic is plugged into his controller you can open the profile and system window which
has an option for audio and you can check to see if this mic is turned on or off.

if none of these work the mics jack input or controllers jack port maybe damaged.
