    I have create and join clubs set to allow and I am over 18, and I have logged out and back in after turning the setting off and back on. When I try to access realms stories a popup says Oops, you need permission first,

    Oh, Fortnite does not require an Xbox Live Gold subscription since it's a free-to-play game.

    Were you able to check the subscription tab?

    Press the Xbox button on your controller to open the guide, and then select System > Settings > Account > Subscriptions.
