How to transfer a game (Flight Simulator 24) to a different account

I purchased for Christmas the new Flight Simulator, back in early November for my husband. I didn't realise there was a 'gift' option so just purchased the game. I didn't use, download or play the game and tried to pass to my husband just after Christmas. We weren't able to do this and effectively a £200 game is now sat useless now.

I've tried talking to the virtual agents and they can't help. I've tried to request a refund and its been rejected. Both on grounds too much time has passed, but surely this is obviously a present and wasn't used for nearly two months after purchase. The whole approach to not being allowed to transfer a game to a different account is ridiculous.

I can't even find a way to make a formal complaint on this issue, repeatedly being told nobody can do anything. I am not spending another £200 because the Microsoft systems are useless.

Anyone got any ideas on how to either 1) transfer the game from my account to my husbands, or 2) receive a refund so it can be purchased again under the correct account.

Not necessarily helpful as I've been told this repeatedly.

Why doesn't Microsoft have an actual complaints procedure to deal with these issues - there must be plenty of people that something like this has happened to. If it was £50 or something fine - but £200 is a complete and utter waste.

Nothing can be transferred between accounts and unfortunately since it's been over 14 days, it would no longer be eligible for a refund.

Hope your day is well. You mentioned you want to transfer Microsoft Flight Simulator to Steam. According to the Microsoft Flight Simulator FAQ, "content is tied to the platform you are playing on—if you purchase a DLC on Steam, you cannot transfer it to the Microsoft Store version and vice-versa."

Please allow me to assume that you are trying to activate the Microsoft Flight Simulator, but seem to be having some difficulty at the moment?

Normally, if you purchase a game directly from the Microsoft Store, the game will be tied directly to your Microsoft account. After downloading and installing the game, log in with your account to play.

But given that you are referring here to the flight simulator key, can I understand that you may have a Microsoft flight simulator code, but you don't know how to redeem it?

You may wish to follow the instructions in the following link to redeem, and once the redemption is complete, the game will be linked to your Microsoft account:
